Welcome!

Date 1.5.08

Welcome to the new tides church website. I am very excited to unveil a clean and complete user friendly site that will give you all the information you need and keep you up to date on all of the latest.

Some people ask why the new website? Great question and there actually are several great reasons. The first being, the old one was antiquated and out of date. Brian Gowing did the best he could with what he had to work with but in the end it was time for a change.

The second is this, when people come to the site they want it to be interactive, well so do we. You will now be able to not only listen to the podcast sermons but you will soon be able to watch our podcast on our new video player. On top of that I will be keeping an updated blog so you can keep up on what’s happening at tides. You can learn about everything from the progress of the building to personal things like my daily struggles and joys leading a growing church.

Lastly we are a church that is very inviting; so many people come by the site to check us out. In fact it has been said that people today will make a decision to come to our church based on our website before they even decide to step one foot on our campus. So as a result we want our website to scream Great church! We have a little motto around here, “Aim for perfection and settle for excellence.”

So, Enjoy the website and I look forward to sharing this way with you on a regular basis!

I am praying for you Brian!!! May God allow you to glorify Him through your testimony tomorrow. May He give you the words that can reach and touch the most unsaved possible and strengthen those that follow Him already.

You are a miracle and God has planned every step to get you on that stage tomorrow.

Go get ‘em - Andy

I was praying for you all morning, I knew you would shine. The Holy Spirit is hard at work and HE shines thru you. On New Years Day Beto, Kobe and the Malick boys climbed to the cross on the hill close to our home. It was awsome! I actually stayed at the base of the summit for fear of not being able to get down safely (I didn’t have a piece of cardboard with me to slide down) ha! But Beto and the boys got up there and took a picture of the guys in front of the cross, it was so kewl to see the next generation - Christ’s Crusaders up there over looking the valley. I feel very proud and empowered to be a part of Tides. I am so pleased and thankful that God has placed us here and is working “overtime” in us. Thanks Bryan and Deborah for your vision and commitment to us….
Your Sister In Christ, Teresa

Pastor, your message was powerful as you pointed out that the burden of sin can only be lifted by accepting Jesus Christ. Honestly, the only reason I watch the HOP is to hear testimonies like yours because most times these interviews allow folks like you to talk about Jesus Christ straight up. My problem with the HOP is that they used a powerful scripture in song, Isaiah 40 by the choir, then your testimony about not being able to walk to set up their Eagles Giving program. I think this technique is wrong. God isn’t broke and I believe we should rely on God to support any ministry on which His hand is on. God has riches beyond our knowing and can move any believer anywhere in the world to give by the power of the Holy Spirit. Should we ask Christians to give, I think yes but carefully so we don’t manipulate circumstances to “strong arm or guilt” people to give, when maybe they can’t. Please understand your testimony was right on and powerful and God will bless you because you honored His Son Jesus Christ with your testimony. I just dont like how HOP used the song, scripture, testimony to set up their asking for money. Peter speaks about using teaching to get money, so I think we have to be careful about manipulating circumstance as an opportunity to get someone’s money. You honored God because you honored His Word and His Son. Psalm 138:2 So, blessings to you and your work in California. I visit California each month and will arrange my schedule around so I can visit you.
